Hamid to join Modi’s swearing-in instead of minister

President Abdul Hamid will attend the swearing-in ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi instead of War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Haque, says an official source.

Modi will take oath as Indian Prime Minister for the second term on May 30 at the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhavan in the evening, reports UNB.

On Sunday, Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen had said Mozammel would represent Bangladesh at the ceremony as the senior most cabinet member of the Bangladesh government.

However, the decision was changed on Monday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be in Japan during the swearing-in ceremony as was during previous ceremony.

Last time, Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury attended Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony.
