A rights organisation has called for cancellation of additional plane fare for Bangladeshi hajj pilgrims during the ensuing hajj.
The Bangladesh Pilgrim and Haji Welfare Council also demanded reduction in plane fare within an affordable range from the proposed $1,633.
The demands were made on Sunday at a press conference held at the Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU).
The council leaders including its president Dr Abdullah Al Naser and general secretary Abdul Baten attended the conference among others.
The council also sought prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s intervention in this regard.
