Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu on Monday said Bangladesh will continue its efforts to put pressure on Myanmar diplomatically to solve the Rohingya crisis.

“The only solution to the problem is to send back the Rohingya refugees to Myanmar ensuring their security; there is no alternative to it. The government believes in diplomatic solution not military action,” he told a press conference at the Secretariat, reports UNB.

The minister said Bangladesh will continue its normal relations with Myanmar as a neghbouring country until they sever the diplomatic ties.

Bangladesh is emphasising the implementation of recommendations made by the Annan Commission, formation of probe committee of the United Nations to investigate genocide in Rakhine State, persistent dialogue and making international organisations more active, he said.

Meanwhile, the minister alleged that BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia was conspiring centering the Rohingya issue.
