Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Sunday said the government is taking all-out efforts to bring back two fugitive killers of Bangabandhu to home in the Bangabandhu centenary year (‘Mujib Barsho’).

The minister was addressing a meeting organised by the Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Command Council at the Jatiya Press Club.

Simultaneously, the government is trying to bring back two fugitive war criminals -- Chowdhury Momueen Uddin and Ashrafuzzaman Khan -- to Bangladesh, the minister said.

Mueen and Khan were sentenced to death by the International War Crimes Tribunal (ICT) in 2013.

The foreign minister (FM) said the Bangladesh government is in regular communications with the US and Canada for bringing back Rashed Chowdhury and Noor Chowdhury.

Bangabandhu's killer Rashed Chowdhury is residing in the US and Noor is living in Canada.

They were awarded capital punishment by the apex court of Bangladesh for killing Bangabandhu.
