Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said the government never obstructs any peaceful programme.
The minister also said law enforcers take necessary steps if anyone intensifies people's sufferings doing excesses.
Asaduzzaman Khan made the remarks on Saturday after a meeting at Barura of Comilla, said UNB.
Talking about BNP's black flag programme in Dhaka, the minister said, "It was needed to free the area to ease people's sufferings."
Earlier in the morning, police dispersed BNP's black flag demonstration programme in front of its Nayapaltan central office protesting the denial of permission to hold a rally in the city.
Lawmakers Prof Ali Ashraf and Prof Nurul Islam Milon, Chittagong Range DIG of police Dr Moniruzzaman, local Deputy Commissioner Jahangir Alam and Police Superintendent Shah Md Abid Hossain attended the meeting.
