Govt closes archaeological sites and museums until Apr 2

Amid the growing fears of coronavirus, the government has closed archaeological sites and museums to visitors until April 02.

The closure decision was taken in the interests of safeguarding public health, said Md Hannan Mia, director General of the Department of Archaeology, in an order on Thursday, according to media reports.

Official activities, however, will continue as usual, he said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chattogram city police banned any gathering on the Patenga sea beach in the to prevent risk of the fast spreading virus.
