Google Doodle marks Bangladesh Independence Day

Search engine giant Google has posted a special doodle on its home page, celebrating the 48th Independence and National Day of Bangladesh, just like previous years.

The special doodle, dedicated to the people of Bangladesh, shows the country’s red and green flag waving proudly over the landscape.

Google, for the first time, made a special doodle for Bangladesh in 2013 commemorating its 43rd Independence Day, says a BSS report.

The world’s most-used web search engine also posted special doodles in honour of the country, marking a number of occasions including the Begum Rokeya Day and the birthday of the eminent writer Humayun Ahmed.

“Forty-seven years ago today, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman declared long-sought-after independence, marking the birth of the nation of Bangladesh,” Google said as to the doodle.

The doodle concludes with the wish saying, “Happy Independence Day, Bangladesh!”
