The father of the college girl who was sexually assaulted at Bangla Motor in Dhaka on March 7 has started a case against unidentified people under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.
The case accuses 15-20 unidentified people, said Ramna police OC Mainul Islam. “Police are trying to identify the perpetrators from video footage. No one has been identified yet.”
The case details are similar to what the victim wrote on Facebook, hours after the alleged sexual assaults.
However, police are yet to find out which police officer rescued her and helped her to get on a bus, he said.
Police have recorded a statement of the student, according to the OC.
The victim alleged that she was attacked by a group of men on their way to a public rally organised by the ruling Awami League at the Suhrawardy Udyan on Mar 7.
According to bdnews24, the rally marked the historic speech of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1971.
