Ambassador of Germany to Bangladesh Thomas Heinrich Prinz paid a farewell call on President Abdul Hamid.
The outgoing German envoy met the President at Bangabhaban on Thursday afternoon.
President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin quoted the President as saying, "Germany is one of the closest partners of Bangladesh. Germany recognised us in the early January of 1972.From then, the relationship between the two countries is increasing day by day. Besides, bilateral relationship, trade and investment between the two countries is very excellent."
Bangladesh signed a deal with Veridos GmbH, a German company, to introduce e-passport contract in the country. The President hoped that the work will be completed within the deadline, reports UNB.
Abdul Hamid praised of the activities of the envoy during his tenure in Bangladesh.
The ambassador also said, "Many German investors have invested in various sectors, especially in the power and energy sectors, in Bangladesh. More investors are interested to extend their businesses in Bangladesh. The relationship between the two countries is deep-rooted even in civil society."
Secretaries concerned to the Bangabhaban were also present in the meeting.
