The much anticipated Dearness Allowance (DA) for journalists, as recommended by the Wage Board, will probably be gazetted next week.
Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu made the disclosure at a meeting at the Dhaka Reporters' Unity (DRU) auditorium in the city on Saturday.
The minister explained that they had completed the necessary formalities and now everything was ready for the promulgation.
Scoffing at the idea of proposals for across-the-board unity, he said, "The idea of Razakars and Freedom Fighters marching together was preposterous."
The meeting was also addressed by the Media Advisor of the Prime Minister Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury, reports BSS.
