Finance Minister AMA Muhith on Friday said it is difficult to find any freedom fighter in Jamaat-e-Islami as the party worked against the country during the Liberation War.
“Jamaat-e-Islami is the enemy of the country. We cannot find any freedom fighter in Jamaat even if we search with the help of a torch light,” he told journalists after offering Jumma payers in Sylhet city.
On Thursday, BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan said there are freedom fighters in Jamaat.
Responding to a question, Muhith said the current election environment is very good and the next election will be held in a peaceful manner.
Referring to another question, he said the police are not doing anything out of political issues. They have a black list, they are working as per the list, he added.
Among others, Awami League nominated candidate for the Sylhet-1 Dr AK Abdul Momen and General Secretary of Sylhet District Awami League Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury were present, reports BSS.
