At least four workers, including a security guard, have been killed in a spinning mill fire at Faridpur area in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur district.
Three of the deceased were identified as Security Guard Russel Mia, Shahjalal Mia and Anwar.
The fire broke out at the spinning mill around 2:00 pm on Tuesday.
Eighteen fire-fighting units extinguished the blaze after 12 hours of frantic effort. Valuables, including cotton and machineries, were destroyed in the fire.
Mohammad Aktaruzzaman, deputy director of Gazipur Fire Service Control room, said fire-fighters recovered the charred bodies after extinguishing the blaze at night.
The bodies were sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
A three-member committee was formed to identify the cause of the fire.
