Bodies of five young men have been recovered two days after a boat, carrying 14 passengers, sank in the Shitalakkhya River following a collision with a cargo vessel in Rupganj upazila on Friday.
The recovery was made from the Rupshi Kazipara part of the river during the hours between 12:30am and 8:00am on Friday, said Mamunur Rashid, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defence.
Rupganj Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Moniruzzaman said they have informed the families of the recovery of the bodies, the autopsy of which will be done only if their relatives want.
