Fish trader dies in Sadarghat after being hit by launch

A fish trader has died as a launch knocked him down while he was unloading fish at Sadarghat terminal on Monday morning.

 

Shahidul Islam, who is in charge of Hasnabad River Police Outpost, said the Bhola-bound Karnaphuli-10 hit trader Alauddin Shiju (30), son of one Abdul Malek, a resident of Medua area of Bhola's Daulatkhan Upazila, while he was offloading fish from a launch to terminal at about 8:00am.

 

Md Manjur Alam, the chairman of Medua union council of Doulatkhan upazila, later identified the body.

 

 Police then handed over the body to the chairman following his appeal.
