At least 20 jhut godowns and several wood shops were gutted in a devastating fire at Konabari in o Gazipur on Sunday morning.
Akhtaruzzaman, Assistant Director of Gazipur Fire Station, said the fire erupted at a jhut warehouse around 8 am and it engulfed the djacent 20 jhut warehouses soon.
After being informed, five units of firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the flame at 10.45am, reports UNB.
However, the extent of losses caused by the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official added.
