FE Economic Editor AZM Anas clinches UNCA Award

AZM Anas, the economic editor of The Financial Express, Bangladesh, has been named the gold medal winner for ‘The Prince Albert II of Monaco and UNCA Global Prize’ of the UNCA for his series of articles on climate change.

The United Nations Correspondents Association (UNCA) will deliver the award to the winners of the 2019 UNCA Awards on December, 6.

Every year the UNCA gives award for best print, broadcast and online media coverage of the United Nations, UN agencies and field operations.

This year, AZM Anas clinched the UNCA Award for his eye-opening series of articles on the grave environmental challenges in Bangladesh.

His articles document alarming erosion and landslides contributing to economic dislocation and uncontrolled migration.

The 24th annual UNCA Awards will take place at Cipriani 55 Wall Street in New York, according to UNCA website.

UN Secretary-General António Guterres and Ashley Judd, United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Goodwill Ambassador as 2019 UNCA Global Advocate of the Year will attend at the award giving ceremony.
