Dhaka University (DU) authorities have decided to hold fresh admission test for its Gha Unit amid allegations of questions leak in the previous test.
Only 18,464 or 26.21 per cent of candidates who have passed the tests will have to retake the test, reports bdnews24.com.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof Akhtaruzzaman said the decision was taken at a meeting of Dean's meeting of the university on Tuesday.
However, those who failed will not be able to retake the exam.
Students had been protesting, demanding the exam be cancelled. The test was marred by widespread allegations of question paper leaks— acknowledged by the university.
Earlier, the Gha Unit admission test was held on October 12 and with a surprising pass rate of around 26 per cent.
It was the highest pass rate in this unit in the last five years.
Later, students staged protests for fresh examinations raising allegations of questions leak.
