Jatiya Oikya Prokriya chief Dr Kamal Hossain has formed a new anti-government alliance with the BNP, leaving out Jukto Front Convener AQM Badruddozza Chowdhury in growing signs of political rifts among splinter groups.
The new alliance, Jatiya Oikyafront, and its demands were announced at a press conference at the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday evening, reports bdnew24.com.
Jukto Front Convener AQM Badruddozza Chowdhury called a separate press conference at his own home in Baridhara.
The groups were to meet to finalise the outline of the anti-government alliance on Saturday, but Badruddozza Chowdhury was left out of the conference, which was held at Dr Kamal’s offices at the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry building.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, JSD President ASM Abdur Rab and Nagorik Oikya Convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna joined Dr Kamal for the meeting.
