Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has planned a stringent security measures ahead of the Christmas Day on December 25 and 31st night for peaceful observance of the days.
“We will provide all possible security to ensure peaceful and smooth celebration of the Christmas Day and 31st night,” said DMP Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia after a meeting on security and traffic management ahead of the Christmas Day and 31st night.
Talking about security arrangement ahead of Christmas Day, he also said, “Arch ways will be installed in each of the 68 churches in the DMP areas and none will be allowed to enter the venues without a search and metal detector will be used in this endeavour.”
“Uninterrupted power supply will be ensured at each of the churches alongside with deploying fire tender and ambulance while no temporary shops will be allowed in the church areas to ensure foolproof security,” he continued.
“Use of firecrackers, bags, trolley bags and bag packs will be completely prohibited,” he added.
Regarding security arrangement ahead of 31st night, Asaduzzaman said, “The government has already imposed a ban on observance of the 31st night. Holding any sort of programme in open places even in rooftops has been strictly prohibited.”
“All the bars will be closed from the night of December 30 and DJ parties will also be forbidden,” he said, adding that none will be allowed to enter the Dhaka University areas without identity cards, reports BSS.
The DMP commissioner requested all to be remained alert as none can carry out any subversive acts over the days.
