Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in separate mobile court drives on Thursday fined different people and business entities a total of Tk 62,700 for allegedly violating the government’s social distancing measures amid the ongoing coronavirus shutdown.
Several DMP teams, headed by its executive magistrates, conducted the drives in the capital and fined 36 shop owners and 16 people in 52 cases for breaching the order.
Law enforcement agencies with the help of Bangladesh Army have been implementing the government directives on social distancing throughout the country aiming to stem the spread of coronavirus.
