Traffic division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Monday filed 4,133 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violation on the city streets as part of its regular drives.
The DMP also realised over Tk 2.694 million in fines for the violations, according the available data of DMP.
Of the total cases, 535 cases were filed for driving on the wrong sides, 49 for using hydraulic horn, 10 for using hooter and beacon light and 19 others for using tinted glass.
The department lodged 1,441 cases against motorcycles and seized 140 others for violating traffic rules.
Apart from this, police dumped 45 vehicles and wrecked 780 others.
