Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a daylong drive on Saturday filed 286 cases on charges of driving on wrong sides.
Traffic division in their simultaneous drives on the city streets filed a total of 2,904 cases against different modes of vehicles for traffic rule violations and realised Tk 1.587 million as fine, said an official release.
As many as 78 other cases were lodged for using hydraulic horn, seven for using hotter and beckon light and 15 others for using tinted glass.
Some 77 cases, including 54 video cases, were also filed against drivers of different modes of vehicles on charges of talking over mobile phone while they were driving.
It also dumped 50 vehicles and wrecked 584 others.
Besides, 820 cases were lodged against motorcyclists while 35 motorbikes were seized for the traffic rule violations, reports BSS.
