Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a 24-hour-long anti-narcotics drive arrested 41 drug suspects from different areas of the capital for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drives in various places of the city and seized 894 pieces of Yaba tablets, 179 grams heroin, 15 bottles of phensedyl, and 150 grams cannabis, according to a DMP statement issued on Monday.
A total of 30 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The drive began at 6am on Sunday and ended at 6am on Monday (today), the statement added.
