The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a 24-hour-long anti-narcotics drive has arrested 23 drug suspects from different areas of the capital city for selling and consuming illegal drugs.
Different police stations under the DMP conducted the drive and arrested the suspects with 234 pieces of yaba tablets, 379 grams heroin, 200 bottles of phensedyl syrup, and 300 grams of marijuana; according to an official statement.
A total of 18 cases were filed under the Narcotic Control Act against the suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The drive began at 6:00am Wednesday and ended at 6:00am on Thursday (today), the statement added.
