Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said disagreements among the election commissioners over taking decisions would not affect conducting the upcoming national polls.
The CEC made the remarks while replying to a question from reporters on the note of dissent submitted by an election commissioner at a meeting of the EC on Monday, reports BSS.
KM Nurul Huda on Tuesday joined a view-exchange meeting with regional and district election officials and senior polling officials at the EC office Agargaon area of Dhaka.
Election Commissioners Mahbub Talukder, Md Rafikul Islam, Kavita Khanom, Brigadier General (Retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury were also present at the meeting.
Election Commission Secretary Helaluddin Ahmed presided over the meeting. EC Additional Secretary Md Mokhlesur Rahman, among others. also joined the meeting.
“We would take initiative to bring some changes in the election code of conduct. We would discuss the matter in the next commission meeting,” the CEC said.
