The 2nd International Conference On Disability and Disaster Risk Management will be held in the capital on May 15 -17.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the three-day international conference where about 2000 delegates from both home and abroad are expected to attend.
The decision to hold the conference was taken in a meeting of the National Taskforce on Disability and Disaster Risk Management at the Secretariat on Sunday.
Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya presided over the meeting.
Secretary of the ministry Md Shah Kamal and representatives from different ministries, among others, were present at the meeting.
The conference is being organised for the second time with the advice of the Prime Minister and also inspired by Taskforce Chief Adviser Saima Wazed.
The first international conference was held in the city on December 12-14, 2015 where an eight-point decision was taken.
This year's conference will discuss the progress made in implementation of the previous resolutions.
According to UNB, those who are interested to participate the conference are advised to complete the registration through website - dkconf18.modmr.gov.bd.
