As many as 619 more diarrhoea patients were admitted to the icddr,b, an international health research institute in Dhaka, in the last 15 hours till 5:00pm on Friday.
AKM Tariful Islam Khan, media manager of icddr,b confirmed this to The Financial Express (FE).
The growing number of diarrhoea patients put the hospital under huge pressure, he said.
On-duty doctors, nurses and health staff are also struggling to deal with the increasing number of patients, Mr Tariful stated.
A total of 1,058 patients were hospitalised on Thursday while at least 1,020 diarrhoea patients were admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.
