Dhamrai gunfight leaves three 'robbers' dead

Three suspected robbers were killed in a 'gunfight' with the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Dhamrai Upazila in Dhaka on Tuesday.

RAB-2 Company Commander Anwar Razzak said the ‘gunfight’ took place at Kelia Mor area of the upazila around 4pm on Tuesday. 

The RAB official said the deceased were aged between 30 and 40, reports bdnews24.com.

“They gathered in the area on getting an information that a non-government development organisation of Shoilen area was moving millions of taka,” the RAB officer said.

He said a RAB team went to the area following a tip-off that the robbers had gathered there.

“The RAB personnel retaliated when the trio opened fire. The three died on the spot,” Anwar added.

He also said two RAB members were injured in the ‘gunfight’.
