Defamation case filed against Ducsu VP Nur

A defamation case was filed on Tuesday against Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (Ducsu) Vice President Nurul Haque Nur.

Solimullah Muslim Hall Students’ Union vice-president Muzahid Kamal Uddin filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ziaur Rahman and the court after recording statement of the plaintiff, asked officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station to submit report by January 8.

The plaintiff in his plea said Nur has engaged himself in different immoral activities like tender business, extortion and lobbying for earning quick money by misusing his post of Ducsu VP, court clerk Rakib Chowdhury said.

“Nur in this way has tarnished the image of Dhaka University and stigmatised the post of Ducsu VP,” the plaintiff said.

Controversy was created regarding a phone conversation of Nur, where he was heard allegedly making request for money to an unidentified person, reports BSS.
