Customs officials seized 52 gold bars worth around Tk 27.0 million from an aircraft at the Osmani International Airport in Sylhet on Saturday.
Ahmedur Reza Chowdhury, an assistant commissioner at the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate, was quoted by UNB news agency as saying that the gold bars, weighing 6.32 kilograms, were concealed in a box under a seat of Biman Bangladesh Airlines's flight BG-248 that had arrived from Dubai at around 9:00 am.
