Two held with 7 gold bars at Benapole

Customs intelligence officials arrested two people along with seven gold bars worth Tk 5.0 million (50 lakh) from Benapole check-post area on Friday.

The arrestees were identified as Mizanur Rahman, 40, son of one Abdul Mannan of Dhaka and Mahbub Alam, 35, son of one Abdul Malek of Comilla district, reports UNB.

Tipped off, a team of Benapole customs intelligence conducted a drive in the area and arrested them around 9:00am, said deputy commissioner (Customs) Mohammad Sadek.

Later, they confiscated seven old bars searching their bodies.

A case has been filed.
