Two arrested with 28,755 Yaba tablets in city

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-1) in separate drives arrested two drug peddlers along with 28,755 pieces of Yaba tablets at city’s Banani and Badda areas on Saturday evening.

The detainees are -- M Ajim Pramanik, 24, a resident of Raghabpur village in Pabna district and M Nurul Absar, 32, a resident of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.

On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted the drives in Chairmanbari area of Banani Thana and Merul Badda area of Badda Thana at around 6pm yesterday and arrested them with the tablets, said Commanding Officer of RAB-1 Lt Colonel Shafi Ullah Bulbul.

During primary interrogation, the peddlers confessed to bring Yaba from Myanmar through waterways and distribute all over the country, he said, reports BSS.
