Cops recover bullet-riddled body in Satkhira

Police recovered the bullet-riddled body of a suspected drug trader from Tetulia Biswashpara in Tala upazila of Satkhira in the early hours of Wednesday.

The dead man was identified as Maijuddin Ahmed Tulu, 40, son of Shamsul Haq Sardar of Sadar upazila.

Local people spotted the body in the morning and informed it to police, according to Mehedi Russel, officer-in-charge of Tala Police Station.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police suspected that Tulu might have been killed in a clash between two groups of drug traders.

Police also recovered 160 pieces of yaba tablets, 15 bottles of phensidyl syrup, a motorcycle and a cell phone from the spot, reports UNB.

However, Rahima Begum, wife of Tulu, said her husband, a rod-cement trader, was picked up by detectives while returning home on January 13 and since then his mobile was found switched off.

Later, Rahima lodged a general diary with Sadar Police Station.
