Four suspects, including the prime accused, have given confessional statements in a case filed over the killing of teenage girl Rumi Akhter after rape in Bishwanath upazila of Sylhet.
Sylhet Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Nazrul Islam recorded their statement under section 164 on Friday.
Md Dulal Akand, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Bishwanath Police Station, confirmed the matter, reports UNB.
Later, the accused were sent to jail, he added.
The accused are Shofiq Mia, 32, his wife Hira, 24, his two aunts Dipa Begum, 32 and Lovely Begum, 25, of the upazila.
Earlier on September 10, being informed by locals, police recovered the unidentified body of a girl from beside a road in Pathakoin village.
Within seven days of the incident, police identified the girl as Rumi Akhter of the village and solved the mystery behind the brutal killing.
