A man was gunned down by robbers at Jhaudogi village in the Lakshmipur sadar upazila on early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Mosleh Uddin, son of Dudu Miah Patwary. He was a meat trader at local Chowdhury Bazar.
The robbers also stabbed his mother Ayesha Begum, brother Milon Hossain and son Arman Hossain. They are being treated at the Sadar Hospital, according to a UNB report.
Abul Kalam Azad, officer-in-charge of Chandraganj Police Station, said that a gang of robbers broke into Mosleh's house and stabbed his family members.
When Mosleh returned home and saw the situation, he shouted for help. But the robbers shot him before fleeing with valuables.
Mosleh succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a hospital.
OC Azad said they were investigating the incident.
