Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested three drug pedlars with 5,280 pieces of yaba tablets in two separate drives in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj district on Tuesday night.
RAB sources said the arrestees were Abdul Karim, 21, son of Abdul Latif of Terapara village, Abdur Rahim, 25, son of Ismail Hossain of Namojagannathpur Charrasia village and Ataur Rahman, 25, son of Gias Uddin of Boglauri village under Shibganj upazila.
RAB said acting on secret information, an operation team of RAB-5 from Chapainawabganj camp raided Bonokul Square under Monakasha union of Shibganj upazila at around 5:40pm and arrested Karim and Rahim along with 3,863 Yaba tablets, reports BSS.
In another operation, RAB team raided Koiladiar Umarpurghat Toll plaza area under Shyampur union of the upazila at around 9:50pm and arrested Ataur along with 1,417 Yaba tablets.
After filing cases against the arrestees, they were handed over to Shibganj Thana Police, said RAB.
