Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested ten Rohingyas and an alleged human trafficker from a trawler illegally headed for Malaysia in the bay near Shahparir Dwip in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar on Friday.
The identities of the arrestees could not be known yet, reports a news agency.
Tipped off, a team of RAB-7 conducted a drive in the bay and rescued the Rohingyas around 8:30am, said Major Mehedi Hasan, commanding officer of RAB-7 in Cox's Bazar.
The elite force also arrested a member of a human trafficking gang from the trawler.
