Police have recovered two bodies from Laxmipur and Chapainawabganj districts in the last 24 hours.
In Laxmipur, law enforcers have recovered the bullet-riddled body of a convicted fugitive robber from Charkadira in Kamalnagar upazila in the early hours of Thursday.
He was Moin Uddin Manu, son of Sultan Ahmed Patwari of the upazila, was a top-listed robber, said Alamgir Hossain, officer-in-charge of Kamalnagar Police Station.
Being informed that two gangs of robbers gathered in the area, a team of police went to the spot and found the dead body of Moin Uddin.
Police also recovered a firearm and two-round bullets from the spot, UNB reports citing the OC.
Moin was wanted in several cases and was also a convicted fugitive in a case.
In Chapainawabganj, an unidentified woman was found dead in a pond at Hazipara in Bholahat upazila on Wednesday.
Local people spotted the floating body in the pond and informed the matter to police at around 2:00pm.
Police then recovered the body and sent it to Sadar hospital morgue for autopsy, said Nasir Uddin Manadal, officer-in-charge of Bholahat Police Station.
The body bored several injury marks, police added.
