The body of a missing autorickshaw driver was found with his hands and feet tied in Dhaka’s South Keraniganj upazila.
The body was recovered from a bush near Baghashur Village in Basta union on Saturday night, said South Keraniganj Police Station SI Md Ashraful Alam Talukdar.
The driver has been identified as 30-year-old Md Alamin.
Alamin went missing on Thursday after leaving home with his autorickshaw, said SI Talukdar, citing the victim’s family. The family filed a general diary at the police station on Saturday after searching for him, reports bdnews24.
“Baghashur locals reported finding a body in the bush that night and a police team went to recover it.”
The family then came and identified the body, the SI said. “The driver had been struck with a sharp weapon on his right leg and had his hands crushed. Our initial findings suggest that a group of robbers killed him, tied his hands and legs and then dumped the body after stealing his autorickshaw.”
