A team of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested an alleged drug trader along with 5 kg heroin from the city's Gabtali area on Wednesday night.
The arrestee was identified as Nizam, 35, reports UNB.
Based on secret information, a CTTC team conducted a drive in front of 'Hanif Enterprise' bus counter around 9:20pm and arrested Nizam along with heroin, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman on Thursday.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrestee revealed that he had been bringing heroin to Dhaka from border of Chapainawabganj district, he said.
Besides, he had involvement with illegal arms trading, the DB DC said.
