Five get death for Chattogram murder

A Chattogram court has sentenced five people to death for the murder of expatriate Nurul Alam in 2011.

The death row convicts are Babul Barua, Kanon Barua Jewel, Munir, Sanjid Banik and Mujibur Rahman.

Chattogram Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Jannatul Ferdous announced the verdict on Tuesday, said state prosecutor Taslim Uddin.

Among the suspects only Kanon was in court to during the verdict, he said.

The other four are still at large. Nurul Alam was killed on May 30, 2011 near the Oxygen Intersection in the Bayezid Bostami area, reports bdnews24.
