Muggers stab Nielsen official to death

A field officer of Nielsen Bangladesh Ltd, who sustained stab injuries in Chartha area of the Comilla city on Wednesday afternoon, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) at Wednesday night.

The deceased was identified as Aminur Rahman (40), son of Omar Ali, hailing from Shatakhata village in Shalikha upazila of Magura, reports UNB.

A five-member team of the company went to Comilla from Dhaka on an official tour on Wednesday. When they reached Rani Dighir Par area around 3:00 pm, a mugging gang obstructed them and looted their belongings, said Police.

Salauddin, the Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Police Station said, being obstructed, they stabbed Aminur, leaving him injured critically.

Aminur was rushed to Comilla Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Later he succumbed to his injuries around 11:00 pm, the OC added.

No written complaint is yet to be filed in this regard. However, police are trying to arrest the criminals, said Salauddin.
