Clash leaves man dead in Chuadanga

A man was hacked to death in a clash over a coconut tree dispute at Farmpara in Chuadanga district town on Friday night.

The deceased was identified as Lalon, 34, son of Anar Ali of the town and an activist of local unit of Juba Dal.

Mintu, Pintu and Tipu, sons of Hashem Ali locked into an altercation with Lalon over a coconut tree around 9 pm, said Kolimullah, additional superintendent of Chuadanga Police.

At one stage, the brothers and their followers swooped on Lalon with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured, reports UNB.

Later, locals rescued the victim and sent to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital. But, he died on the way to hospital, police said.
