Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 36 people including 10 drug traders from different areas of Dinajpur district in last 12-hour ending at 8 am Tuesday morning.
Law enforcers also seized 200 bottles of Phensidyl, 309 pieces of Yaba tablets, 3,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets and 52 pieces Pethidine injection during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on different charges.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested eight suspects including five drug traders with 309 pieces of Yaba tablets and 52 pieces of Pethidine injection, Biral Thana police arrested two, while Birampur Thana police arrested three, Kaharole Thana police arrested four people, Chirirbandar Thana police arrested three people, Nawabganj Thana police arrested two suspects, Phulbari Thana police arrested two, Ghoraghat Thana police arrested one, Khansama Thana police arrested three people and Parbatipur Thana police detained three suspects.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrestees, the sources added.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive also detained five drug traffickers with 150 bottles of Phensidyl and 3,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets around 6 am from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur district, reports BSS.
Later, the detainees were handed over to Hakimpur Thana police, BGB said.
The arrested persons were sent to jail.
