Law enforcers, in special drives arrested 21 suspects including five drug pedlars from different areas of Dinajpur district during the last 12-hour period ending at 8:00am on Friday.
Law enforcers also seized 125 bottles of phensidyl syrup and 1,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets during the drives.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district on different charges.
A total of 18 people were detained by police across Dinajpur region, while contraband drugs were seized during the drives.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrestees, who were all sent to jail, reports BSS.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive detained three drug pedlars along with 50 bottles of phensidyl syrup and 1,500 pieces of cow fattening tablets at around 6:00am from Hili Railway Station in Hakimpur upazila of the district.
BGB said the detainees were handed over to the Hakimpur Thana police.
