A suspected leader of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) was killed in a reported gunfight with police in Shibganj upazila of Bogura district early Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Khorshed Alam alias Shamim, 38, a former ameer of the banned militant outfit, according to a news agency report.
Police also seized two firearms and three round of bullets from the spot, said Sanatan Chakraborty, additional superintendent of Bogura police.
The details about the 'gunfight' will be disclosed later in the day, he added.
