Dhaka Metropolitan Police arrested 68 drug dealers and users in an anti-drug drive from the city in the last 24 hours till 6am on Friday.
During the drive, the law enforcers also recovered 20,859 contraband Yaba pills, 1,345 small packets of heroin, 2.10 kg hemp and 130 sedative injections from their possession, reports UNB.
Local police and members of Detective Branch (DB) carried out the simultaneous drive in different areas from 6am on Thursday and made the arrest and seizure, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman.
Of the Yaba tablets, 19,600 were recovered by DB East division from Sutrapur area in old Dhaka on Thursday.
Two alleged drug paddlers -- Lalu Majhi, 60, and Rashid Ahmed -- were arrested by the DB team in connection with the seizure of the contraband tablets.
