Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in a special anti-narcotics drive arrested 47 suspects from different areas of Dhaka city for selling and consuming illegal drugs in the last 24 hours ending at 6:00am on Tuesday.
A special team of DMP, comprising Detective Branch (DB) of police and other law officials, launched the drive in various places of the capital city and seized 645 pieces of yaba tablets, 189 grams heroin, over 150 kilograms cannabis, ten bottles of phensedyl syrup and 18 injections used in drug consumption, according to a DMP statement.
A total of 34 cases were filed under the Narcotics Control Act against the drug suspects with the concerned police stations in the city.
The operation began at 6:00am on Monday and ended at 6:00am on Tuesday, the statement added.
