Coastguards in Teknaf seize 0.3m Yaba pills

Members of Coast Guard Bangladesh in a drive recovered three lakh pieces of Yaba pills from St Martin's Island in Teknaf on Friday noon.

Based on secret information, a team of Coast Guard conducted a drive on the island around 12:30 pm, said Lt Col Abdullah Al Mamun, Assistant Director (Intelligence) of the Coast Guard headquarters.

Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the drug dealers fled towards Myanmar leaving the Yaba pills in floating condition. The estimated value of the seized Yaba is Tk 150 million, reports UNB.

Later, the drugs were handed over to Teknaf Police Station, said Mamun.
