Case filed over Tashfia ‘murder’

A case was filed over the recovery of the body of a schoolgirl from the bank of Karnaphuli River near Patenga sea beach in the port city Chattogram.

Victim's father Mohammad Amin filed the case with Patenga Police Station on Thursday noon accusing six people, including girl's 'boyfriend' Adnan Mirza, of killing her daughter.

Police recovered the body of the schoolgirl, Tashfia Amin, a Class-IX student of Sunshine English Grammar School and daughter of Mohammad Amin of Nizam Road in the city, from the riverbank on Wednesday morning.

Tashfia came out of their residence on Tuesday to meet Adnan and since then, she remained missing, said family members.

Later, police arrested Adnan Mirza, 16, a resident of South Khulshi area, on Wednesday afternoon.
